
Ms Pam Chaffin has been teaching for 13 years. She is currently in her third year as the Director of Bands at Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, FL. Ms Chaffin holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Music with an emphasis in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Tennessee.
Ms Chaffin’s teaching responsibilities at Mandarin High School include: the direction of 2 Concert Ensembles, Jazz Band, Chamber Winds and the Mighty Mustang Marching Band. Her bands consistently receive superior ratings and receive accolades at evaluative and competitive events.
Ms Chaffin is a National Board certified teacher, has served as the All District Band Chairperson, been named to “Who’s Who” on several occasions, been recognized as most influential teacher for the past 3 years, won the Coca Cola National Educator of Distinction, and most recently, been selected by her colleagues for the “Tom Bishop Award” which recognizes remarkable positive impact on a high school band program.
Her professional and honorary affiliations include: MENC, FBA, FMEA, WBDI, CBDNA, NBA, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
